hot on the heels of stuff...

So all this hubbub about justin.tv lately. Seems like justin, twitter and the demise of newspapers rule the planetscape lately. When I think about justin.tv i think about how soon it will end. Just cause ya turn a camera on doesn't make it good tv. Checking out his site just a minute ago I see a note saying he'll never take the camera off. Never on the web is like 6 months or maybe 12 if yer lucky. I just can't see being strapped to him forever. Its a good project between projects but watching the guy sleep or run down a hall.. yah i dunno about that. For purely research purposes, the tech has potential. It'd be interesting to see how many brands you can pick up through a day observation.

Also the camera/rig system itself could be sold to people as a kit, or at least innovated upon etc. I dunno, other than that, its a youtube channel that doesnt have any real zing to it, other than live.

Already he's been pranked on a few times. Soon I could see someone robbing him on camera and the audience wouldnt know either way really.

But then lately, the world has been a strange scary place. This morning I read a story about the man in Houston that BBQ'd his 19 yr old ex-girlfriend in his own balcony grill. Thats right, dismembered and grilled for two days... in Houston.. texas.. america. WTF people my god. What drives a person to even slightly consider that, THAT is remotely a thought? Too many episodes of Sopranos on the mind? Do we love to gravitate to the extremes and then.. are we aware of their invisible marks? I dunno, but that stuff is whack.

With twitter i'm less impressed. PEople are calling it telecooning or something, or presence walking, sheesh. All this from a mini blog that you update via im, sms, email, or blogging. Crazy really. Presence is the next big thing though I'll give them that. Everyone wants to tap into presence marketing. Where am I, what am I doing, and boy dont you wish you were here.

So ya and apparently newspapers are dying.. wait dont they tell us this every 3 months or so? Yeah well they're really dying this time.
