PANIC!
We are currently living in generation fear lately. Earthquakes, hurricanes, terrorists, car bombs, threat levels you name it, we love panic, we love fear really. TV dishes it out daily.
This past week TV kinda bothered me, in particular THRESHOLD, and ole Dr. Molly Anne Caffrey. Durning a scene where Data basically says “why don’t we tell the public..” he gets shut down fast by Molly with the response that people are fueled by panic and that panic will simply induce more panic. So was she right? I think in her twisted sci-fi tv sorta way yes, but the way the scene went down, it seemed more political to me. For a split second there it seemed like the US goverment was reaching thru the booobtube and dishing out a key point in understanding for me that i had to absorb. Panic is bad, so if panic is bad, then that justifes our cause to not tell you the truth. So as the “people” we can’t handle the truth.
Now I have a tv show telling me I can’t handle the truth. What a bothersome notation. Molly is the US goverment and Threshold isn’t all that great of a show. Mary and talk about all these new shows alot lately. We’re watching Lost, Reunion, Threshold, Surface, Invasion, Smallville, Ghost Whisperer, CSI Everything, Cold Case, Earl.. Earl is for fun really. Here’s a few feelings…
THRESHOLD. 2D bit from Tron appears in pacific ocean as a 5d morphing bit. Makes a sound – changes yer DNA, turns out these bad guys want to turn everyone on the planet into 5th dimensional baddies. Its really not that great of a show. It has an over bearing too much of a hard ass big black guy, a stone cold can’t show emotion ex cia man, a savvy white ultra clean yet she wrote the documents that caused this show Molly, a midget, Data from the enterprise as a white haired wizard and a clean berkley scientist boy. The show doesn’t know what to hold back, there is no real drama. Aliens are here, and here they are, and here’s the agenda, and odds are you know that at the end of the episode we’ll get this week’s bad guy.
SURFACE. BIG fish are back. I don’t know enough about it. Basically water dino’s are back and they want earth. Great!
INVASION. Hurricane hits small southern town, alien lights found in water take over people. Local sheriff is already an alien i see. You will become an alien!! Tries to be all XFILES but lacks the material. Kinda of a lame cast.
LOST. Original (apart from Giligan’s Island) and one bad ass show. Just watch this.
