Facts come and go, but Monkeys, they live forever.

About three weeks ago I came to the conclusion that… actually in general i think that ive always had the notion that I need to do more of the unexpected in my life.  It always hacks me off when people observe the difference and then see me in some new light.   I don’t really mind country music, i dont really love it, nor do i seek it out, yet sitting in the grass with my honey watching the clouds go by seems a perfect place for it. and so I dont mind it.  I tune into some whiney country music at work and i get the look.  It makes me wanna  go play some gangsta rap meets christian choir music.  Its actually just a way of asking me to keep giving you the unxpected, why not paint a new canvas in yer mind cause in the end you will never figure it out.  Sometimes its just fun to keep that going really.  Other times I really need the different, i need something that isnt known.

Same goes for the WuTang, I dont anything about the WuTang music, the hip niggas and crack hos rappin in about tha man and shaloin muthafuckas but ya know what, the book the WuTang Manual was pretty good.  I recently finished up reading that this week.  Sure they break down the chemical ingreidants of crack, coke, weed, x, hole, and then tell me how many kungfu movies they loved growing up, but theres some nice bits of wisdom in this book.  A laid back guy doing his thing, having that agenda, staying.. gasp, simple admist his muthafucka ways.  Its really not a bad book.  I had hard time reading it this past weekend with Marys family all around me at Pike Lake.  A grandmother knitting away and there I am in the corner reading about bitches and hos and muthas rappin to the taoism of the man meeting shaloin.  You know the conversation.. “whatcha reading dan?”  ME?  I say to myself, yes.. dan, what are you reading.  “why i’m reading about rappers, gangsta black muthas that have learned the way of shaloin and play chess!”  They do play chess btw, its war man.  Still in essence the book is about drive.  Its about creation and drive to do.. something.  Rap was just a vehical for the message, as is the comics, the wutang wear, this book etc.  Still felt strange standing there in front of grandma.. holding my wutang manual.

Thats what I liked though.  That strangeness effect.  The unexpected ‘wahhhh?” is refreshing.  If you tap into x, y and z everyday of your life go tap into q and f, what the hell, why the hell not.
