Phillip K Dick's A Scanner Darkly is being adapted to film.. er well animated film. The makes of Waking Life are coming back to the big screen. Check out the trailer.
I don't recall reading this story. I'll have to dive into it this weekend. I'm drawn to anything that is well animated like this, i love rotoscoped video of any kind. I'm sure all of this is fairly custom but I am wishful that much of it is done with some plugin... heh. I used Wildform's Flixpro and Avid to create the Mini and RitaTalk pieces awhile back. Man that was fun, I need to get back into that.
That was alot of fun. A cheap shot no doubt compared to the look A Scanner Darkly, but still its a step in the right direction. We are talking about minimally effected video. Only god knows how many layers are involved in this production. I'm sure its many... many many many... and I don't have the cool Keanu Reeves either.. dang!
