lets see...new.. whats new
What's happening?!? Hmmmm good question. Ok lets see saturday was a beautiful day and I took 'mimi' out for a good wash, wax, vacum, detail etc... she looks sooo pretty now! Everytime I polish my Mini Cooper to black reflection waxed perfection it tends to have two effects on drivers. I either get the stare or wave, that i consider the good effect or i get the "im on yer ass dude you wanna race lets go, pink slips and all" or what i call the fast and furious effect. Why can't I just have a clean car and be happy with that. What I love the best is the guy that has the cheap civic whos got the loud rumba exhaust on it, who races up to you gets 2 inches from yer bummper (this time i didnt really notice him cause i was lookin at this cute dog this other gal had on her lap driving) anyways ya so he's got the kick ass im a bad muther civic speedin along right next to me, you wanna race me right thing going. Whew thats a long sentance. Ok so he hits the gas and screams off letting everyone know he's moved forward!!! The best part of this is traffic lights. He flies down bethel with a roar of UMMPH! only to hit a light, a nice long one. Long enough for me to arrive as if i havent burned a gallon of fuel or knew he was there. Hilarious. Drives them crazy when ya look at them with the "oh hiya" face.
Course spring is coming and I have a few additions for my own car. I plan to get extra running lights, the rally-ish ones and I'm thinking white stripes and a few different vynil stencil designs, either rally ones like the number 34 on the side of the car or obey giant ones that will say "OBEY!" or use a symbol etc.
So other than a great day driving and just loving the mini yesterday lets see.. what else occured. Taxes! HA! Don't ya hate when ya forget to sign them? Hahaha.. I must of been thinking elsewhere that day.
On the pc front lately i've been running into that "need need need" thing where i consume like six things at once. For awhile it was link sites and graphics and interactive links, looking for newness in all that is new. Then it was 3d engine or virtual world builders. I really need to find some nice 2d to 3d extruding tools for some ideas on some work related gigs. But by far the most curious thing lately has been gaming. AC2 is waning hard. I jumped into game the other day and found everyone in my clan playin away... some on teamspeak. Hey I got teamspeak. So I jumped on their teamspeak server and chatted it up. Being able to hear someone changes thing. Talking to enties you only knew as X or Y now become more real. People I hardly knew in game, they were just folks i chatted with but never really met or talked to or emailed or knew in another medium gave me little to go on as to figuring them out. And game chat is different than say instant messaging or the world of flickr where ya get more clues about someone.
Still the power of voice and that instant feedback of what you said and how they responded is really nice. I have a feel for these people now. Their personalities leap thru the computer monitor. Some of them are in ohio even and we're talkin about gettin together for a lan party or something. I'm game, i mean mimi could use the drive right? heh.
Its funny using teamspeak I find it hard to type in chat and talk at the same time. Not everyone was using at the time so i had to type to others and then speak to those that could hear etc. It was a little off, I just wanted to talk and not have my fingers translate what i was sayin.
Also on the gaming front lately is this hunger for new. I've been searching for something new and fun to play. With AC2 dying and while I was never really addictied to it, and the free time i've had lately just doing other things has been good, I've really been egar to see and experience a new world online.
So like everything.. excess!
Ut2k4, fun but only in a group setting.. not really hittin the mark for me lately. I miss good fun co-op fps play. I miss doom haha. Maybe cause I'm reading Masters of Doom. B1942 Vietnam newer but not enough to keep me egaged. I go back and forth on it lately. I love the 60's soundtrack in game and the overall presentation and excution of the game is excellent. I'm just not there yet to give it notice. EQ? Ha, i checked back in on my old old account and sure enough its still there and i got 10 free days naggin me, now if I could accept the old graphics and manner of play. Not working. AC2 truly corrupted me. Course AC2 lately has been sorta dead to me. I don't see a real reason to level any more, I'm high enough yet my class is boring most of the time. Its a beautiful engine, its the kinda platform id love to learn how to mobs for or design landscapes, create etc for. But the spark of play is long gone. This is where games like AC2 and EQ trap ya. You mainly get in game as a means to hook up with folks ya know. Killing that connection is difficult unless ya sense that folks are movin on to something new. That newness is Lineage 2. Which was never really on my radar as something to consider. But after setting up an account and checking it out these past few days I could see it as potential entry in the "have played" log. A couple things leap out at ya in Lineage 2. Its another RPG ok thats cool, i'm lookin for the world thing. Its all PVP, ok Bob will hate it but Clint will love it. And its got the most T&A yet i'm not trying to be T&A in any game i've play for a long time... so Todd will love it! Hahaha.
Lineage 2 is strange. My understanding of Lineage 1 was that it was a big korean game, a way of life even, folks really took to the first one like the way EQ hit the states and consumed the masses in the late 90's. L2 3d engine looks nice though i havent seen much. Character creation gives you that first hint of potential T&A in this game which is funny. This game was crafted for the would be wanna be gotta get wanna have anime fan. This game has built in fan service in such odd little i'm not trying ways its funny. Simply put the avatars for your various players look great. If you want the ultimate in sleek and sexy, people tend to pick the dark elf race since they believe in hardly any clothing and all the female characters look like an off shoot of Lady Death or Dawn. Gasp, I hear the dark elves are over run with players hahaha. Yeah I could see that. Course elves in general look just as good. Baddies so far, the coolest one ive seen just on the edge of town look good too. I picked a mage and started out. Everyone running around killin low level critters doing low level quests.. dang i've done this before why do I keep doing it. Its that little bit of curiousity that keeps ya goin. The interface is pretty slick, no real issues yet. I dont know if the avatar will move based off keyboard yet, so far looks mainly mouse movement ie DS style etc. Graphics look pretty decent, its an upgrade of sorts over other games ive played but of course i need to see more to really tell ya. Character animations for combat are pretty good, they of course have the related anime physics and rules of anime seem to apply to L2. Men who wield magic have animations of a manly priest/warlock like nature, lotta arms flingin oo castin etc. Gals who cast magic do so in a cute bend my body like a "v" and make me look sexy and be sure I bounce around while doing this nature. Haha. This game is for anime freaks for sure. It will go far. Graphics go pretty high res i hear, maybe Clint will try it for that haha. The characters are gorgeous of course and the landscape etc about what ya'd expect. The PVP game style is interesting. With everyone startin around ya so low level and all its hard to get a real feel for it, other than you just kill some guy. Or more so, some guy just killed me. Bad Karma dude! That will affect yer karma levels man, watch out! I havent reached the realm of lost items, characters over a 5th lvl when they die or get pk'd you lose stuff yay! I'll see how that goes next.
So Lineage 2 is so so. Its better when i'm game with folks I know. Some of the old AC2 crowd has moved that way and with teamspeak and all it makes the game play pretty good really. But the game itself is just a side distraction from Spell Force the current force of gaming in me lately. Its an RTS meets RPG and done pretty darn well. Its alot like Dungeon Siege but the RTS angle of it is really fun. There are many times where the map is swarming with critters the music is EXCELLENT and the true greatness of this game leaps out at ya. Still it has its issues like "holy crap theres 75 units on the screen and you want me to EVEN think about how my character is casting magic or what should it do when i level up etc?!?" I love a game with attention to detail and the gang that made Spell Force did that. Much attention went into this 2 cd game that has blown the doors off most RTS's ive played to date. So much to do. And being able to see it from and overhead view or go FPS right down into the action is pretty cool. Again the music ROCKS. Excellent music. I can't stress that enough. Its on par with DS's original music which i thought was excellent as well. The game isnt too easy either, ive been playin for awhile now and I've barely scratched the surface in overall content for the single player mode. Very cool.
So ya there ya have it, Lineage 2 is interesting and i'll try that for a bit while its in open free beta mode... and while that goes on my main squeeze of gaming attention goes into SpellForce which can be consuming at times. Haha... Oh ya and I see Sacred just game out too. Much to do much to do! I need to go into game design next maybe.
