the look

So did I mention that Terminator 3 Rise-o-Machino' was an excellent movie? Course I liked U571 so the director was cool by me. Actually the story is solid and arnold is excellent but best of all, holy shizzle dizzle - the TX rocks. Its worth seeing again just for her. "I like your gun..."

Remember the days when scrolling code was cool? Ya know like the old T1000, ya do the whole "terminator cam" view and he's always scrolling code, seeing in red and all. I love that stuff. RoboCop did it too, though not as much.

I caught Good Will Hunting on AMC last night. Ok ive see that flick a few times now but this time around, not sure why, i really enjoyed it. I kept thinking "what an excellent script" its so rare to come across truly witty and intellectual dialogue these days, let alone actors that can deliver it. Damn Robin Williams and Matt Damon were good in that flick.

I've been kinda app hungry lately looking for something to fill the void of gaming. After Effects, Painter, Photoshop, Lightwave, Combustion... Xfrog. Leaping from app to app. Not good. Fun though, course no real direction yet and my screenplay software keeps staring at me. I guess i need to pin down some ideas, and keep them simple, always simple. Problem with alot of my characters and story ideas is that they have no real attraction other than to me. So maybe i should do a music video instead, just pick a song, crank out a shoot script and do it. Start simple. I always go too far and then get lost. Its hard not to go too far though, I just keep finding new things.

Maybe I like experiementation too much. A dash of this, a drop of that. Kinda like my PS2 game buying, my expensive rental system of buying used and occasionally new to find something that really gets me. So far about the only thing thats consistant, meaning it wont get sold back to burt is racing games.

Course this trend of consuming also finds a home in my music tastes. What I've been listening to this month:

Alex Cortiz - Make Believe, smooth so smooth very good groove tunes, chillin but not asleep, great music. Alex Cortiz has become one of my favs lately and will stay there for quite sometime.

Tosca - Dephi9, the grandmasters return for more sounds of the underground. Chilled beats, trip hop masters work the scene. 2CD set that for some reason just about killed my pc at work, but then again that pc does suck.

Propellerheads - Decksanddrumsandrockandroll, Ok why did I wait forever to get this cd, its old?!? Well the sound doesn't age and its always been on my list of things to get. Its great to hear the classics again and the "secret service" tune, woah, thats good stuff. Strange enough I cant find an official site for them.. they gone?

De-Phazz - Everything And All, basically anything with De-Phazz gets consumed by me. It's like with Alex, see, get, no questions asked. De-Phazz has a beautiful sound, must consume.

Alpinestars - white noise, electro freaks! Kinda, a different sound for me, well different that there's actually lyrics involved. Ok this was an impulse by the other day, sounded good, I like the first four tracks, that means get. Liking one track doesn't cut it, have to like at least three tracks on an unknown cd before i'll just buy it. Rules are rules. Good sound overall though.

wait a sec dan this is all lounge and electro funk, where's the good stuff?

Animatrix Soundtrack - Now this has a mix of both, little dance alot of trip. Still a good cd. I love tracks like "who am I" and just about anything with Junkie XL on it, is "buy" to me. And the Zion dance/sex scene tune.. wow, awesome stuff - again another master here: Fluke.
