rally me

I've been playin Colin McRae 3 on the Xbox lately. Seems like ever game I get I compare it to RalliSport, and yes Colin McRae 3 is good, its still not as awesome visually as RalliSport, but its damn close. You play as Colin himself driving, well punishing the Ford Focus through what seems like an endless arrangement of tracks. I really like championship mode, rally after rally after rally, occasionally getting a chance to fix yer car and do tweaks to things you just keep going. The car controls are good, a little to get used to as with anything but its good. And its a mode I rarely go for really. Typically you just get yer ass kicked by the AI, but in Colin McRae 3, its nice, its just you vs time. The graphics are really good and I love all the extras they put in; doors fly off, hoods get lose and then fly off, glass breaks, bumpers take damage and then fall off. The replays, one of the biggest reasons why I like these kinds of games are excellent as well. They dont give you as much control as far as cameras and such goes, but the standard mode of playback has sweeping camera moves and each playback camera knows the track, so they arent just car targeted cameras following the car around with different views. Some cameras wait for the car to whiz past a turn, then follow it, then go pull back and then zoom in as it goes thru another turn. You can tell they put some time into making killer relays come to life. Another nice thing is lack of music, no music but the roar of the engine and some good dirt flyin. Theres music in the cut scenes etc but no music invades yer driving. On rally games i dont like tunes, but games like Midnight Club 2 or Need for Speed, they are a must heh. Anyways, get Colin McRae if yer a car games nut.

I picked up Need for Speed 2 on the PS2 as well. Its crazy fast with cops chasing you, killer graphics on the PS2, and I like how you can play a cop as well, adds a little interesting game play.

Course with the Mini Cooper on the mind I've been playin the Italian Job alot as well. I've finally gotten the hand of driving with Italian Job's semi whacked stiff control set. The missions arent bad but I hate it when they force you to race an AI controlled car thur a city you just got to and its like find the X now go... i mean the AI guy knows where it is.. you just got there. Anyways, still fun. Italian Job has a nice open free for all play mode as well. I use that to learn parts of the city etc. And theres tons of little jumps, car carriers, malls, steps, hills, parking garages etc. to drive thru.

I've been eyeing pics of GT4 on the PS2, the screenshots look incredible. I hope they can pull it off successfully, the game just looks amazing.

Work is crankin along nothing new to add there. Aside from a huge ass spider that is walking along the glass right now... he's massive. What a cool thing. But it has to die.

gimme an S

Or maybe not. Maybe the S isn't is me. Saturday I drove the Mini Cooper again. This time my brother Paul tagged along and together we took the Mini for a spin.. almost a complete 180 even. After I was done enjoying my part of the test drive, Paul took over and then fun began. Hehe.. he's quite the car nut. We did a few low speed tricks with the parking brake, some hilarious ones i need to go back and see the marks. I was amazed at the low speed 180' capabilities of the Mini. The car is seriously liight. And all that pep is alot of fun.

We returned the Mini Cooper and asked about the S, I wanted to drive one to see the real difference. They didn't have an S, but they did have an S - Cooper Works. Now the works is a new modifcation to the mini S that takes the 163hp to 200hp. Thats a alot over the Coopers 115hp. But the dealer guy had to ride with me. Blah! But Paul encouraged me to test S now while I had the fresh experience of the Cooper in my head.

Off the line it was the standard Cooper, no real differences and sadly the whole area around MAG is like 35mph, and just my luck some cop in front of me. Eventually I got to some open road and let the Works out of the S. Speed, yes its there, kicks in after 50 or so and just wants to go go go. The shifting was more unforgiving than the Cooper, and the steering didnt seem as point and shoot as the Cooper did. But the raw power was feflt. Course the Works is a 6k option on top of the S which is a 4k option. Thats a 10k add on to the 16k base. 26k.. a bit more and that doesnt factor the frills i want.

I managed to stall the S Works once at a light waiting to get on 161. It just didnt like how I wanted to shift I suppose. In all the S Works was probably more than I'd use. It just didnt feel all that different other than, ya, raw power heh. It didnt feel as fun as the Mini Cooper who was maybe a little more managable for me. Plainly put the S, and the Works for sure is wasted on me. Like this guy, I kinda agree. I should of had Paul drive it. But I definately encourage Troy and the rest of the gang to go to MAG and drive the Works. I'm sure yee all will get a better feel. For me, the S isnt me. I like the looks of the S, and the only difference is a few emblems and the hood scope which i could swap and put on a Cooper. Tempting.

I think the config I'll want to go with is Indie Blue, with Bonnet Stripes, White Wheels and Driver Lamps. I decided to pass on the sun roof as well. Its huge but I think i get plenty of air without the hole in the roof. The Aero kit adds a nice look and I can consider that and a spoiler later on. The stripes and driver lamps are just a must, I love the look. I'm also thinking Black with white stripes too. This isnt bad either.

I finally checked out Paul's 26' Cutty on Alum Creek last night. Now thats a big boat. Well a big step from what we were boating in. Very nice though, I could see taking that out ont he lake, sleeping in it etc. The cutty cabin area is really nice considering the size and all. Alot of fun. Lake Cumberland is coming up.. Can't wait.

hype

Its amazing just how much hype apple can suck out of the public these days. A strange little company that can re-invent the paper clip by painting it neon and changing nothing else can land on the front page of the New York Times with a heading like "Apple Breaks New Grounds with Paperclip"...

I'm talking abou the ISight webcam gizmo. I saw in yesterdays Dispatch, E-Connect section just how revolutionary Apple is in offering the world, the web cam. As if that's new. Man Apple can just write a good story or something. Sure they do have innovation and all, and ya an iPod is cool, iTunes isnt really new but sure whatever, but a frickin web cam? Ummm they have been around already baby!

the iSight wont do jack unless its used, thats the biggest problem i see with web cam tech "taking over the world..". It needs users, and users want features and abilities that are useful and that other people use. Until that happens you can keep on making killer tech and it wont be used until people figure out that hey heres another thing i must use. I dont think the web cam is there yet. Sure its useful, but what im saying is, the iSight didnt make it useful, hell we've had web cams already.

Maybe its the clueless media and its all part of the hype. There are aspects of the Apple line I like but more and more I see hype and silly propaganda on just who invents who these days. The iPod is a nice sleek product but thats it. iTunes? Listen.com was there before that, and CDuctive.com was there before that. Nothing new. Yet to public through hype and a few cheesy articles, only Apple can be the sacred cow of our time. Pah!

Another rant. Friendster. Friendster doesn't actually help you find new friends, its designed to make you electronicly aware of yer current friends. Yep, you cant find anyone new unless you add say Barry, and then Barry adds Leroy, and Leroy adds Sue. Ok so you want to get to Sue, well I know Barry and odds are if I know him well enough I'd find out about Sue eventually, why the hell do I need yet another privacy intruding website to help me network my real life existing network? Maybe I should get the Breather 2000, it runs in the tool tray on my pc and reminds me to breathe. Maybe Friendster is made for the kind of people that have 200 instant messagener buddies. And yes I've met those folks, most of them are 13. One funny thing about Friendster is that it assumes theres a high likelyhood that some ya know is in the system, so do a search! I looked for Susan Smith, not knowing her at all and sure enough I found three susans to send a note to and say, hello this is yer buddy dan! Whats worse about friendster is that there isnt even any forums section where you could meet people and then add them even. Overall I found it yet another hype application on the net. One more piece of something amazing yet I really dont need it.

So all the rage over Friendster is the social networking tool of it and I understand that yet I find it limited still. Hiptop Nation grants me access without thinking about it, I just belong by default, people can find me, I can find them. Friendster wont find anyone for you, you dont exist unless you know someone else and they too have embraced friendster. I just find that distrubing. I'd much rather have something like Meetup that encourages people to communicate and socialize on the net and then you take it from there.

I guess Friendster has a place somewhere because people are using it. I just don't see it as usefull as say something like the blogosphere java tools that show the spider linkage between floozyspeak and google etc. Another problem with friendster but also rampant everywhere else is fake idenities which i'll admit, I like to do as well. I get tired of always sending out my beacon of reality to the net, I want an alter ego that is totally fake cause I'm tired of entering all my personal data for whatever whoever lands on the net that wants it. I'd pay money to have a front man for me, I need a Barry, I'm Dan in RL, but Barry whoever is my online idenity, he gets the spam, the porn mail, the crank calls etc.. but Dan hes free.

So the lure of having that one friend you know tap you into a vast network of unknowns is well.. sure i guess that could happen but to manage yer own existing network of people ya know, that is kinda creepy. Its like adding a third party over seerer into yer network of reality, thats big brother gang, and eventually big brother will start charging you fees online or subject you to a few dozen viagra popup ads and targeted messaging.. "hey i noticed yer bio said you like long walks, well if you act now you can Long Walks, the CD for only 9.95!!!".... pah!

this old dan

All gone new these days I tell ya. During the middle of DON'T STOP it occured to me just how many unfinished videos i had on the drives. LIttle bits here and there, waiting for that final edit. One in particular, the hybrid piece had been bugging me for awhile now. What do you do with 4 hours of footage? Cut together a real monster garage episode? No cant do that, didnt get enough dialogue or stationary shots, not to mention I really wanted road footage.

Ya road footage, I'm yerning for road footage. Anyways an edit like that, some 30min episode would just kill me time wise. So as usual, the daunting task of how to handle it, turned into mass procastoration on my part. That and the fact for some reason the installed xpress dv on my end here at home likes to crash randomily.. and sometimes you can do a shit load of editing between auto-saves.

With DON'T STOP in the can and on the net, yes and in all its rough glory, I wanted it that way really. I turned my sights on the hybrid piece finishing off the elements and solidifying the concept. What I have now I like alot. It flows good, grooves on and yes I'm still missing road footage but I'll forgo the need for that right now.

On a completely seperate note.. i think my arm is four feet long. Thats 4' man.. 4 frickin feet. I know it should be three but it feels four.

Ya know in editing Hybrid Garage I found that Todd is actually a good speaker on camera. The camera likes him alot. Todd go into communications man, I could see you hosting sports or something.

One of the other obsticles on the hybrid piece was lack of web findable high rez images of the insight. Like something big, 640x480 and up. Not much out there. Bigger the better really, cause effect wise I can do more with that.

dont stop

Well we've had a pretty amazing weekend here in cowtown usa. Saturday my room mate, Jon, told me he was off to the skatepark and then it happened, I got that idea thing goin. Skate Park, ya know i've never been to one in ohio, hell I'll go. I grabbed my low quality dan arsenal of crap and headed out. Hiptop'd the world on Worthington's small but usable skate park facilities and broke out the Kodak Mc3 for video capture.

It was really cool actually. I managed to get a few of the guys there break out some special moves on film. Ya never know how people take the lurking camera man hanging out. Jon's used to my fetish with the camera and anything else techie orientated, but for some folks, it takes getting used to. Sure enough, they didn't mind and away I go.

The Kodak Mc3 movies came out pretty good considering the ultra small 15fps type shots it takes. After I got home I slapped the compact flash card into the Compaq TC1000 tablet and downloaded the tryout of Adobe Premiere Pro. I hadn't really edited anything on the tablet before. Strictly in pen mode i wondered how hard it would be.

The tablet did pose some problems but I conqured and in a few short hours DON'T STOP was complete. (takes a bit to download btw..) Music provided by Overseer, the Animatrix edit. Editing by you know who.. and would I edit again on the tablet? Sure. It was kinda cool really editing there on the couch watching tv.

And for those of you who missed the other pics I took with the hiptop, they are >>> here.

Saturday wrapped up with a bacon and eggs with Safari Dave. About once a week Dave and I get togther and just talk. The topic varies from "what great one liners can you drop just when the waitress arrives to get a reaction" to "women" to "film ideas" to "whatever else.... life etc". I really look forward to eggs. We call it simply eggs. All we want are eggs really. All you need is eggs. They may have WOMD, but we got eggs. Dave and the new Jeep are one. He's quite the chick magnet now.. muahahaha.. I knew that was his plan all along.

Sunday burst on the scene with a trip to Best Buy. Course what I really wanted I forgot to look for. I did look at LCD's and as usual, getting something that actually knows what they are selling is.. well.. typical. Lost in a sea of "ya it should do that.. um..." and I just go thanks and move on.

I returned home with no LCD panel or wifi detector but with one cd, and an older ps2 game: World Rally Championship. It doesn't beat Rally on the xbox. World of Outlaws: Sprint Cars though, a game I picked up the other day.. Sprint Car's, now that is pretty cool actually. I never thought I'd get into just driving a tight little circle track continously sliding but I do.. I like it alot. Actually I've been consuming car games on the PS2 lately, Italian Job, Midnight Club 2.. which I highly reccomend, especially with the cheat codes! And yo normal, its out on the xbox as well.

Mid-day Sunday I broke out the Many Moe and Jack action on the Grand Prix. Yep, waxed it. Can you believe it, actually waxed it. Amazing. I don't know what came over me really, it was alot of work. She sure is shiny now though.

While waxing I watched Gangs of Newyork, it was... long. I dunno, didnt get much out of it. To round off the day I made strong limeade.. ya its strong. Like needs 2 more cans of water but noo, you ain't gettin it. I want it strong. Just remember kids, dont stop!

alexander

During the days of ADV we were offered all kinds of product. Bad shows, good shows, concept shows etc. I remember one screening of a new show coming out of Korea (which is not usually as good as something out of japan, anime wise) called Alexander. It was a new series featuring character designs from Peter Chung of Aeon Flux fame. I loved Aeon Flux so I was into Alexander by default.

Alexander, told of the story of the great Alexander but in a fast foward futuristic kind of way. Overall it didn't impress my boss at the time so he passed on it. It could of been anything, too much, quality sub par though we didnt usually care about quality that much, if the story was decent go with it. Hell most of the stuff we did back then didnt have a story. So in the end, i dont know why ADV passed on Alexander. Course this was a good 3-4 years ago.

Now TokyoPop has picked up the license of Alexander and redubbed it Reign. I can understand redubbing a flim called Kiaitaftogya De gfoegfo! but Alexander? I mean, its english already, just keep the name. Especially when the lead character, Alex himself has this really cool stylized A tattoo on his chest and its like the frickin symbol of the whole series, and yes its meant to be that way so that you play off it in packaging etc.... BUT nooo TokyoPop threw that out the door and redubbed the show Reign! RAIN!

Alexander itself is a pretty cool series. You wont find Peter Chung's Aeon Flux style in just the characters, its in everything. It might as well be a Chung complete work. Theres elements of 3d as well but most of it is 2d. As expected the Japanese language is fine.. sounds good, and characters hit the mark on delivering. The english dub however is.. so so. Aristole voice on the english dub. least for the first 4 episodes is the same voice as the "bad guy" character in Aeon Flux, an actor I dont have the info at the moment, but who sounds PERFECT for Aristole. Its rare to come across an english dub voice that just works. In fact, you start to think in Aeon Flux, was that guy just a twisted version of Aristole? They had simmilar passions. The rest of the dub is typical lameness, they even try to rip off a yoda voice for one of the characters later on in the series. Like anyone smart and short should talk like yoda, i mean its expected right?

The action is cool, looks of mystical badness etc however the TokyoPop transfer of the film on DVD seems washed out. I doesnt come across sharp at all. Thats a bummer, cause i remember the vibrant sharp edged version of this at ADV. Another thing TokyoPop did, and I dont know why, for the life of me, they did. Maybe it was to increase running time. We did that at ADV all the time. Tack on trailers to make a 30min a 45min theatrical! But TokyoPop did it the wrong way. Before every episode theres a 3min music video that doesnt change, its the same frickin thing. But its connected to the episode like its the intro to what yer about to see or actually part of the epsiode. It doesnt come across natural at all, like the creators planned for this cheesy 3-hell probably 4-5 min music video. Now that I think about it, all the piece does is hit home to you that yer watching REIGN and not Alexander. They really wanted to cut out the original logo animation for Alexander but liked it so much, they tacked on this 5min music video with some gal screaming REIGN, REIGN, and then they had the nerve to fade into the original logo.. BUT!! they darkened the letters of Alexnader so you cant see it very welll, as it zooms off and thus we have it folks.. Classic cluster @#!$ action from a new startup in anime, TokyoPop!

(sure we did the same thing at ADV mind you, but at least we were clever about it)

Still given the strikes against Alexander I enjoyed the show alot.

New Again!

Well I couldn't put it off any more..., i wanted to make sure the old camera i had would work with the new color sidekick and it does, so presto magico I exchanged my old b/w sidekick for a color one today.. and its SWEET!

Getting a the new color sidekick is like getting a sidekick all over again. It doesnt feel beat up, it feels new.. and its color so all the porn.. er surfing comes thru just right now! More memory, though its not like i had 2k worth of contacts in it is in there. Supposedly longer battery life.. that would be nice. And color, did i mention color? Its color now.

Now i just need the new camera, the old one works fine but still takes the smaller pics, where as the new cam will give me bigger pics but still lqd pics. Hey I'll take it!

Compusa did look at me as if I was a criminal though, this was my second exchange and I go the look this time around. Now maybe i'll use this thing more.

the look

So did I mention that Terminator 3 Rise-o-Machino' was an excellent movie? Course I liked U571 so the director was cool by me. Actually the story is solid and arnold is excellent but best of all, holy shizzle dizzle - the TX rocks. Its worth seeing again just for her. "I like your gun..."

Remember the days when scrolling code was cool? Ya know like the old T1000, ya do the whole "terminator cam" view and he's always scrolling code, seeing in red and all. I love that stuff. RoboCop did it too, though not as much.

I caught Good Will Hunting on AMC last night. Ok ive see that flick a few times now but this time around, not sure why, i really enjoyed it. I kept thinking "what an excellent script" its so rare to come across truly witty and intellectual dialogue these days, let alone actors that can deliver it. Damn Robin Williams and Matt Damon were good in that flick.

I've been kinda app hungry lately looking for something to fill the void of gaming. After Effects, Painter, Photoshop, Lightwave, Combustion... Xfrog. Leaping from app to app. Not good. Fun though, course no real direction yet and my screenplay software keeps staring at me. I guess i need to pin down some ideas, and keep them simple, always simple. Problem with alot of my characters and story ideas is that they have no real attraction other than to me. So maybe i should do a music video instead, just pick a song, crank out a shoot script and do it. Start simple. I always go too far and then get lost. Its hard not to go too far though, I just keep finding new things.

Maybe I like experiementation too much. A dash of this, a drop of that. Kinda like my PS2 game buying, my expensive rental system of buying used and occasionally new to find something that really gets me. So far about the only thing thats consistant, meaning it wont get sold back to burt is racing games.

Course this trend of consuming also finds a home in my music tastes. What I've been listening to this month:

Alex Cortiz - Make Believe, smooth so smooth very good groove tunes, chillin but not asleep, great music. Alex Cortiz has become one of my favs lately and will stay there for quite sometime.

Tosca - Dephi9, the grandmasters return for more sounds of the underground. Chilled beats, trip hop masters work the scene. 2CD set that for some reason just about killed my pc at work, but then again that pc does suck.

Propellerheads - Decksanddrumsandrockandroll, Ok why did I wait forever to get this cd, its old?!? Well the sound doesn't age and its always been on my list of things to get. Its great to hear the classics again and the "secret service" tune, woah, thats good stuff. Strange enough I cant find an official site for them.. they gone?

De-Phazz - Everything And All, basically anything with De-Phazz gets consumed by me. It's like with Alex, see, get, no questions asked. De-Phazz has a beautiful sound, must consume.

Alpinestars - white noise, electro freaks! Kinda, a different sound for me, well different that there's actually lyrics involved. Ok this was an impulse by the other day, sounded good, I like the first four tracks, that means get. Liking one track doesn't cut it, have to like at least three tracks on an unknown cd before i'll just buy it. Rules are rules. Good sound overall though.

wait a sec dan this is all lounge and electro funk, where's the good stuff?

Animatrix Soundtrack - Now this has a mix of both, little dance alot of trip. Still a good cd. I love tracks like "who am I" and just about anything with Junkie XL on it, is "buy" to me. And the Zion dance/sex scene tune.. wow, awesome stuff - again another master here: Fluke.

July 10, 2003

can't rain all the time...

ERIC?!? Man was eric wrong.. sure it can rain all the time, it keeps raining. That's why the crow died!!

Ok so today I slept in till 11am, whats that mean? I slept for a perfect 12 hours. Wow. That is amazing. Guess I needed it. I also had this huge dream. I love dreams that are like giant adventures.

It started out in the desert, driving, then somehow I got to ADV's new HQ, why ADV? I dont know. Ok lately I've been talkin to much of the old ADV crew. --- side story..

David Grundy, a very good friend has been sending me invites to video shows in texas... and i can obviously not attend at this time here in o-hi-o. But ive been sending him "sorry i cant attend" faxes instead. And some of them have been pretty hilarious, so he keeps sending me new invites to trigger more faxes from me.

Ok back to the dream, course by now ive lost much of it cause i just had to go thru a meeting on victoria secret.. no longer have focus! Anyways the gist of it was walking thru some bond like desert complex, almost falling off some stairwell scaffolding, going to mexico and watching people jump the fence to get around customs and then driving again in the desert via rally style action. Pretty strange. But a great dream... good sleep, i like that. Somewhere in all that i kept hearing the Last Exile theme song too. Hmmmm

Take it away texhnolyze...

July 09, 2003

texhnoglazed

So time for an update, how's the tablet? Challenged hardware? Well I was never a real laptop user really, this is my first laptop ya know. For work its great, nice portable, load up danotes and let it go, works dandy in the field. At home it was not used really.. until i got wireless up and running. Now I use it all the time at home, well when im not traveling.

I have to say at home in the living room, our main space for chillin, it had quickly became nearly as important as a ps2 or tv really. Its darn handy and its sweet to sit on the couch and surf the web, read email, whatever.

For work, i take it to meetings using journal for note taking and on road trips, it really shines. Using it in the car while traveling its perfect form and functionality.

I have strayed from the news networks out there on tablet talk. Checking in, lets see here: tc-1000 has many new updates, ink-animator looks cool, not tablet related but a nice article about mblogging, this is interesting too, here is the 80211g upgrade info i need to do this with one of our tablets.

July 06, 2003

box is back

well now that star wars galaxies is out maybe i should try it? AC2 is getting old and seeing the starwars kid remixed like this is.. well.. hilarious! I love it. And check out these kids... dang that is awesome. that kid has some moves!! We've been playing Paparapper lately... "time to relax!".. anyways so these music beat match games are pretty popular these days... like this guy.. thats crazy.

I should of been a dj, course I still can I guess. These days the scene is still rocked by vynil mostly but the age of mp3 djing is upon us. Some dj's are hittin the scene wtih ipods and just mixing it up live. I dunno, im too cheap for good vynil, im not gonna go that route again, sold all my old stuff. Still best tunes, well dance tunes these days ride the vynil highway. I dunno maybe I should focus on the vj aspect eh? Speaking of that, I need to get that projector from work and mess around with projecting on the garage or something, maybe on the side of the apartment, put the ps2 or xbox on there. At red white and boom, they had the xbox projected on a wall, and ya know.. that was a blast playin rally that way.

Now this would be cool for work, ya know to set up a room to just think pure thoughts on... whatever. Kinda cool though. I like this stuff.

Lately I've been sucked into cars, trucks, rally races, derbys.. i need to go see a good demolishion derby.. thats still a must do my life list. I guess I blame Pepboys. LOL.. Anyways, I dont know what Team Toyo is but they got some nice gals on there and this Scion xB is pretty cool too. Box is back.

Mmmmm animation fix... go vote, good stuff here. You are in heaven...

remember july 12

texhno Not so 24 these days. Need to catch up on things. Laundry soooths the swollen mind. My home made margs are coming along nicely but at steep price... last night I think my extra lemon tart back fired and cause it sent me upstairs half alseep. I've been making alterations to Vicki's original recipie, little this a little of that. I like the fresh fruit added at the last minute. I think i need to lay off the sour apple and let those natural flavors come through.

Rain rain rain this fireworks weekend. What has passed so far? Not much really, still winding down from the Exton Pepboys excursion. The mission was a success, camera rig worked perfectly. Troy's Palm V came in handy on times. Made me think of the days of EQ and tracking spawns. I think I can be decent cable puller guy too... long Rockwell arms good.

Exton was the town of no turns. No left here, no right there, it was pretty funny after awhile. The drive wasnt so bad either, least I didnt mind. The Dodge Durango is a nice truck, er suv.... I really liked the ride in it. Its one of the few suv's I've driven where I can really fit nicely in. That itself is a huge factor for me. Would i get one? Well its like this, now I know two cars I fit nicely in... heh. Heck in the Durango I can stretch out in the drivers seat and still have room. Thats amazing! I like the lines on the truck as well, and it moves well.. I dunno, never thought of myself as a truck guy, even though the Durango is more suv. Actually to me its more of a truck.

What else is happening? Mike is in HongKong, poof gone without a trace. I hope he likes it there. Send us some pics will ya. How much ya wanna bet he marries again to a beautiful asian princess? Yep, he lets go the japanese thing and trades in on John Woo special, a true asian babe. I thought about Mike the other day watching John Woo's Hard Boiled. Sure they shot up a few dozen people and all, thats Woo, but the cool drive thru the city.. which i have no idea what it was except the pull back shot of the lead dude in his covertible on the streets of whatever was most likely Hong Kong. Should be cool either way. Just dont get shot mike!
Actually SARS is probably more of a concern but maybe thats contained by now.

I made two brand spankin new cds today. The first one is called "jinn", its a collection of el mexica funk jazz ambient wave lengths like Kinky meets the Tango Safari Children... Kinky is quirky, and I blame dave. SafariDave turned me on to them awhile back. Its the lazy groovy pool party like music. No stress, some lyrics, easy lounge with a CornoaEXTRA! twist. SafariDave you say? You mean GatorDave right dan?

Out with the Gator in with the Safari. Dave have traded up his beat to hell car for a new jeep wrangler and traded his gator fame for Safari Sitters! He started a pet sitting biz. So far I hear its going well but keep that in mind folks, GatorDave, now SafariDave, is an offical legal and authorized pet sitter serving the greater columbus area.

texhno The second cd is called "texhnolyze", named after the new animated series from the makers of Serial Experiments Lain. Its a dark and strange anime that well with the new Junkie XL and Matrix flavored sounds ive come across lately. The first track "guardian angel" is the opening sequnce track for texhnolyze and is produced by Juno Reactor, one of the kings of flat out trance. Its sounds a bit retro even since this kind of trance is kinda never played that much any more. Its kinda quick. Heh. Still not so fast that is annoying. So we open with Juno Reactor, cut to Junkie Xl, and then spill into the Matrix Zion track I love so much, just a great song really, Fluke, good stuff. We stumble into Lamb which I've shyed away from for some reason, but a very good sound. I'm like that with music sometimes, stuff I know I'd like I dont play it, as if to give myself time to rediscover it.

So aside from work what else is happening? Hmmm I went to my 15 year highschool reunion the other day. So many folks, so married, so many kids. LOL. I guess I didnt take that bus yet. Still it was good to see everyone, er those i actually recognized. I started off my evening correctly and promtly ordered round after round of kamakazi's. Look I'm be required to remember these folks, i need to be in the proper state of mind. And ya know the drinks werent all that expensive. Strange really.. cause that was alot of shots.

Lets see all that time standing around watching people in auto parts stores wore off on me.. I actually bought car wax yesterday. Guess I need to work on my car.

Ok im trying hard to fill up this space so that the stuff over there >>>>> aligns correctly. I hope this worked.
