Back in the crunch this week preparing for Seattle on Thursday. With that in mind, here's whats been thru the flooz lately.
Daily Wireless has posted a survey on video blogging. This is pretty cool, theres alot of tools out there.. like Microsoft Portrait, a research prototype for mobile video communication. Wi-Fi cable casting is another cool idea as is Microsoft's Sharepoint. Hopefully I'll get to take a peek at some of these technologies this week. Gah is that a tough book?
South by South West or SXSW opened this week. I've never been to it, but I hear its a good thing. Like a more attractive NAB... ok basically its interactive, film and music conference. Held every year in Austin texas, this fest just gets bigger and bigger.
AOL and TimeWarner launching Mystro TV? Like TiVo, but lets cable networks prevent people from time shifting certain shows, and inserts commericals when viewers hit the pause button. Hmmmm that doesn't sound like it will fly.. but they do have $$$ to back it up.
Woah..."There's going to be a mass collective brainwave concert where a computer uses EEG sensors to measure audience reaction to the music and then regenerate the composition in response on the fly." --->> HERE. Reminds me of day long ago back in I think 95 or something, before I left for Texas where my friend Jeff from Metatech took me to this experimental musician studio just north of Marklars place there on riverside drive. This guy built a huge studio where you would lie down on this platform and he had computers hooked up to midi synths that would pick up your "aura" as he described it and it'd create a musical composition. It was a cool device. I sat there and watched with him as Jeff laid down in the chamber and attempted to concentrate on making a cool sound heh. I wonder if that place still exists.
