Day 5.... Thoughts..
So today marks Day 5 of our War with Iraq. Our armed forces are starting to see some resistance, as was expected. From everything I have seen and read, all seems to be going along fine. For the first time in history we have inbeded reporters with military units reporting live from the field in the thick of it. They have sent back some decent images, and brought an interesting angle to the whole thing.
Now this is what disturbes me; The reporters, not the ones in the field, the ones on tv. The ones woeing over what a tradgedy having 10 people killed is ect, ect. I mean Come ON people, it's a war!!! People die, did they think that this was going to be some bloodless conflict for us? Hell our casulty count is still probably below 25, and I'm sure we have already killed several thousand. That seems like a pretty damn good ratio to me!
OH and the stupid lame ass questions they insit on asking during press conferences! Makes me want to shoot them myself. Asking questions like, "Was the president watching tv, when the conflict started?". Good god. Why would he NEED to be watchin TV? He's got people lined up to give him intel reports, and I am sure if he wanted he can walk down to the SitRep Room and get live reports from the field, shit we will never see. Oh and "What does spordic resistance mean to you?" Hi lets get out a dictinary!!!

Thank you Merriam-Webster! I really wonder if it is a requirement to have an IQ less than 100 these day's to be a reporter in a press room.
Anyway, we have seen some pretty cool toys so far. JDAM's for instance, those are some slick munitions. Taking out millitary buildings in the middle of clump of houses or civilian buildings with little to no collateral damage. I was majorly impressed after the first few days of hitting Bagdad that all the lights were still on.
