ac2 update
Well AC2 has become a bit more interesting. I was pretty stuck at 16 with no clear path of advancement other than exploring. Being in a group as an archer I just didn't make a real impact. I've best at a distance so I solo often. Well last night that changed. I got sucked into a guildy group and introduced to a few new things and a bit of xp.
In AC2 you power level people thru quests. Join the group, go do a big quest and everyone levels up. I didn't mind the xp at all, I really wanted to begin my Ranger specification skills but the slow pace of solo was driving me mad. It's not really slow paced I just wanted to do more vaults, more danger there.
I wandered around some more and benefited from a group xp pool that was building up. I found a fellow ranger and got some good tips on how to deal with dungeons and vauts, "point blank" he says, "master that..." So I plugged it to the max and headed off...
After getting some more levels I headed back to the old vaults. If I complete all of them I get some bonus and well 800 xp to complete the 1st vault isnt all that bad to start off.
In AC2 they introduce a new module every month. New mods add quests, mobs, new improvments to crafting and the GUI. This month's add on is the Curse of Undead. Mounted Skellys roam the burned down forests.. and yes I must go and do battle. They aren't too bad unless ya get poisoned and then ya got 5mins to live. Need a cure? Do the quest and craft a cure.
I always think FireStarter when i see casters. They can summon huge balls of fire and then hurl them at you. Overall the spell effects are pretty cool, sometimes simple sometimes excessive, if that's even possible.
My first summoned steed... oooooo he'll last 60mins and go.. umm 15mph! Wee.. well he is faster than running on foot.
So far AC2 has been a good game. Slow but then again I dont play it everyday. When I do play I can get in and hunt, craft, whatever without anyone nagging me cause mainly I never see anyone. The minute i head to vault, I start seeing people, join a group and take it from there.
It's not as addictive as EQ, so I like that. With EQ i got wrapped up into the social side of things waay to easily. With no people in AC2, its nice. Heh. The game is challenging and I like the ranger class, being able to set people on fire from afar is a nice touch. The graphics are top notch but the upfront and personal battle graphics or maybe system could use some work. The music is almost too minimal for me. I'd like to hear a bit more but I often just play mp3s in the background. I suppose I could just broadcast all those thru eh? Anyone want to listen to me play AC2? I think not.
18 and holding, 20 gets me a pet, i'll report back then.
